Seen begging and getting fed by adult House Finch. Seems able to eat and drink and move around normally.
Growths

I have several house finches with growths on the top of their head. Is it some kind of pox?
Hi Peggy, It can be impossible to know for sure without testing. Regardless of the disease you may see in your birds, it’s a good idea to take them down and clean them. If you start to see more sick birds, then you may wish to take them down for a week or so to let the sick birds disperse. Keep up a regular cleaning schedule (once every 1-2 weeks) to prevent the spread of disease, even if you see no sick birds at your feeders. You can learn more here.
