February 5th / 2022 - first time seeing a sick house finch in our yard - it has swollen closed crusty left eye and the right may be crusting as well. It is having trouble flying up to the feeder and the tree. I think this mycoplasma conjunctivitis? It is the first time we have seen it on one of our birds. We are in Kingsland community of Calgary Alberta.
I think you’re right. Take down your feeders for at least a couple of days and clean them thoroughly. I hope the little guy’s okay!
