Description

First day of Feeder watch on November 5th spotted this sick house finch at my feeder. I have only seen one at a time so I think the pictures that I have included are the same bird but not 100% sure I took down my feeders and wash them thoroughly on 11 -6-2024. I have not put them back up. Could you please give me advice on how long I should leave them down. I have heard anything from three days to two weeks. Thank you!

Sick Bird

Noticed this female house finch on my first day of Feeder watch of 2024. I have included another photo. I feel like this is the same bird but not 100% sure I have not seen more than one with the conjunctivitis. I have taken down my feeders on 11-6-2024 Cleaned thoroughly and have not put them back up yet. I would welcome any advice as to how long I should keep them down. Thank you.

I have had many (up to around 15 who came in a flock in summer) finches with finch eye disease, I have never taken down my feeders and all either got better or left.
