Diseased Bird: a blind bird

It looks like a female purple finch who couldn’t see me when I was near her. Very little reaction to my presence. The eyes looked “dead”, not shinny. She was hopping on the lawn and could fly just a short distance when she got scared. After several minutes, when I checked back, she was no longer there.
