Sick Bird: A Grizzly old Cardinal

This very ruffled looking Northern male Cardinal spent a week in my backyard. He was often hopping around in the tall grass and flowers, bathing in my birdbath or just sitting on the edge of it for a quite a while. He was visited by another male cardinal at times, but I saw no female cardinal around. He was found dead in the back corner of the yard one morning as my husband was out watering. So sad, but he seemed to enjoy his time in my garden.
