Diseased Bird: Goldfinches with eye/head injury or disease???

This little guy is on my front porch today creeping around looking for seed with his one good eye…… it took a while but I finally got a decent photo of his left eye…..not sure if its from a disease or an injury. We have a Northern Shrike that targets the little birds at my feeders ….. maybe he injured it?

the second one has been at the feeders for quite a while. the ‘lump’ on his head doesn’t seem to bother him, but it looks bad!
