Diseased Bird: House Finch with thickened toes on his right foot

Male house finch spends his days feeding out of suction cup feeder attached to my sliding glass deck door. On 12/8, I filmed him on the deck and noticed that his right foot was thickened, with a blade of grass wrapped around it. I’m hoping that he had stepped in a sap like substance, and that the situation is temporary and that his foot is not actually deformed. He continues to show up every day along with three females who usually relinquish the feeder to him whenever he flies up to it.
