Diseased Bird: Impaled Blue Jay

This Blue Jay arrived at the feeder this morning with an object impaled in its head – we think it may be a porcupine quill. The bird returned to the feeder several times over the day and seems to be flying and feeding normally although it does shake its head as though irritated. The second image is just to show, it was not an object stuck to the feeder but really is in its head.
