Sick Bird: One legged Downy Woodpecker
This little Downy with one leg has been coming to my feeders all season. He appears in otherwise very good condition and has little problem with negotiating the suet feeders. There does not appear to be any other problems with this bird. In talking with my neighbors, all who feed birds have seen him at their feeder also, including a neighbor about 3/4 of a mile south of me.

I have a male Downy who can’t use his leg now, but it used to be fine. I hope he will be alright.
The one legged downy woodpecker at my feeder appears to be in good shape. Not sure why it has only one leg. 🤔
