Diseased Bird: “Only one leg to stand on”
This Dark-eyed Junco appears to only have one leg. It was one of a flock of 150 juncos at my count site this season. It appeared to be healthy; it was eating well and able to fly with the others. This big flock came in on a late winter/early spring snow storm along with about 50 European Starlings.
