Diseased Bird: Sick Dove
Additional images:
Observed this dove Feb. 27 and 28 feeding on ground at my feeder count site. Dove was feeding mostly on Niger seed and some black oil sunflower seed. She scratched often at left side of bill. She was last dove to leave site on 27th feeding for awhile by herself. Did not observe drinking from bird bath. Morning of 28th feeding with other doves defending her immediate site from other doves. I am in contact with member of Al Wildlife Rehabilitation.

Looks like she might have Avian Pox. What did the rehabbers tell you to do?
Sick dove in my backyard. Looks like avian pox. How do I get rid of it and/or report it??
Hello MaryJo, thank you for reaching out. If you see a sick bird in your yard, please feel free to call your local wildlife rehabilitator. If the sick bird has been coming to your feeder, we recommend that you take down your feeders for two weeks to allow the sick bird a chance to disperse, and clean your feeder thoroughly in the meantime.
