Diseased Bird: Tuftless Titmouse?

This Tufted Titmouse without a tuft was at our feeders in Laurel, Maryland for several months this past spring and summer. Photo was taken 6/15/2016. From the back it looked like a bald circle, but otherwise the bird seemed perfectly normal. Bird did not appear to be injured, except for the odd bald spot. We have not seen him this fall or winter.
