I had what I thought was 3 White-crowned Sparrows on the ground in my yard at the campground I manage. One of them, though, didn’t have the correct coloring on the head for even a juvenile WC Sparrow. I took photos while trying to figure out which sparrow it was. My book told me it was a Golden-crowned Sparrow in winter plumage.
