Description

Bird was a first year immature as described in National Geographic Bird Book. It had scalloping on the head, a nice rosy-peach bill, black necklace with a teardrop in the center, full white belly, buffy at the side of the head , white throat with black lines running down left and right. This is a county record for Orange County, NY and has been submitted to NYSARC by Ken McDermott who also saw the bird on Sat. December 14, 2013. He is Chairman of the Edgar A. Mearns Bird Club Orange County Checklist Committee.
