This bird showed up in our backyard during a cold spell – the night we saw it was going to be around freezing. I entered in my count as a red-crowned parrot. The bird was only about the size of a cardinal, though, and as I look at the photo I realize he has red below his on his chin and neck. I wonder if it might be a peach-faced lovebird? I understand there is a colony of them in Scottsdale, AZ. Or do you think it’s someone’s escaped pet? It seemed very much at home in the bird feeder.
