Description

First ever visit by Rusty Blackbirds. Mottled brown and black feathers; pale eye. Backyard conditions where they chose to forage were good: (1) leaves that had never been raked (still on ground as nature put them); (2) the “grass” underneath was minimal – mostly weeds; and (3) it had rained for days. So not quite, “flooded forest” but apparently close enough. I took pictures from two different windows, then witnessed approximately 25 fly off, leaving 15 behind who left later. The photo only shows a few of them; it’s at full zoom. Other photos available.
