I know that the white throated sparrow is out of range, but I have photos – he has been at the feeder all week. I also looked around on the web and there are instances of sightings in Utah over the years. Note the white throat and yellow by the eye.

The settlers in early Virginia called this bird the “old Peabody” bird because his song sounds like he is calling “old peabody peabody peabody” at the end of his call. I live in Winchester, Virginia and this is one of my favorite birds!
