Description

Bird had a small yellow crown, yellow-orange shoulder flashes and rump, prominent double white wing-bars, black-striped chest and sides, broken white eye-ring, and an unusual yellow throat. No black bib. We consulted Sibley while watching it for 45 minutes. Since leaves have fallen here, we had good views even in the trees. Investigated and appeared to feed, or perhaps pick insects, from hanging seed feeders, the ground below, and berries on adjacent mountain ash tree, all within 15 feet of our glass doors. Checked out bird bath. Bird is back again Dec.1st, 3.30 p.m. EST.
