  1. We have had evening grosbeaks for two weeks now feeding in our feeders. I’ve never seen them before and there were a good 50 of them or more when they first arrived. This is May, is this unusual? They are beautiful birds!

    A little late to reply but I just saw this. Evening grosbeaks move around a lot and are unpredictable. When I lived in southern Ohio, they could be around in the winter in large numbers but not every year. In northern Arizona where I live now, they come in smaller numbers, sometimes in winter. This year I didn’t see any until spring.
