Rare Bird: Red Fox Sparrow (Taiga subspecies)

This red (Taiga) fox sparrow has been observed feeding below two tube feeders since November 7. This form is rare in southern BC. The usual forms in Southern BC are Slate-colored (Interior mountains) and Sooty (coastal).

A Red Fox Sparrow (Taiga) has been at our feeder for about a month. We’ve had more Fox Sparrows than usual this year. We are in Arcata, California (northern Cal on the coast). I have photos, but was unable to post.
