Rare Bird: Red-headed Woodpecker

This is a juvenile that turned up in the last week or so, although an adult was noted in summer. The youngster seems to be here to stay and we are being diligent in providing ample mixed foods and suet. There are many mature trees that provide security and food sources. Now we see territorial behaviours (much loud squawking and a Pileated evicted from the back yard). Usually several stops in the feeder area each day. Many pics being taken.
