Description
A couple of years ago I planted our native trumpet honeysuckle, lonicera sempervirens, in an effort to attract hummingbirds. It turned out to be a terrific, easy-care plant that blooms from spring through frost and is a hummingbird favorite. As a bonus, the honeysuckle produces berries in time for fall migration and I was fortunate to see this male Black-throated Blue Warbler harvesting the berries during a September visit.
