Description

Each year the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks migrate through Montreat in the Spring. In the year this photo was taken, their flight to higher elevations in the S. Appalachians and northward was blocked by a snow storm and their numbers built up in the days before the weather improved. They were here in large numbers and took advantage of the sunflower seed in the feeders. It was a very exciting time!.
