Description
Each year a few migrating birds that we do not normally see at home visit our feeders before the Feeder Watch counts begin. This past September two female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks visited our seed feeders over a two-day period during which, with patience, I was able to take a number of photos. The females don’t have the rose breast of the males, but are also very attractive birds. I strongly suspect they were on the move in migration simply because none were seen in the yard at any other time through the year.
