Description
On a late season visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge I observed this immature Bald Eagle circling one of the ponds. The area was being heavily hunted by Northern Harriers and I had already observed several have their meals stolen by other Eagles. I noticed this one Snow Goose away from the others acting in a way that led me to believe it may have already been injured, the circling Eagle seemed to take notice of this solitary bird as well. I got set up and just a few moments later was rewarded by the young Bald Eagle making this attack, I couldn’t have asked for a much better angle or light for the shot.
