Description

This beautiful bird was not shy about coming close to my open window. I assumed it was a female Orchard Oriole, but had second thoughts later. A warbler perhaps? Either way, this bird was very close to where I was observing its activity in a bush just outside my window frame.

Linda, could it be a Prothonotary Warbler? I’ve never seen one, what ever it is. A real eye catcher!

Paul, Thanks so much! I think you are correct. I have another photo of the same bird (from the same sighting) where the field markings are more visible. I compared it to the Bird ID Prothonotary Warbler photos and there seems to be a match. How exciting! Thanks so much for offering your expertise.
