Description
A Scarlet Tanager pair stopped at Boston’s Arnold Arboretum in May. Here is the male inspecting me from his perch on a very tall tree. The bird’s breeding plumage on the background of tender green new leaves creates a splash of color announcing the arrival of the warm season after our long and dreary winter.
