Description
On an overcast July day, I was walking around the Mass Audubon’s Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary when I noticed this Ruby-throated Hummingbird flying around. It eventually approached a shrub with thin, naked branches, where a dragonfly had already claimed the tallest perch. The bird was barely bigger than the insect and they both looked striking silhouetted against the hazy sky among the bramble of branches.
