One of the goldfinches appears to be albino.
Melanism
We have seen a similar bird on our feeders in north central Illinois the end of 2024 – early January 2025. I have read these birds are typically blind and as a result, have a hard time flying and mating. The one we’ve been watching doesn’t seem to have much trouble flying from the feeder to the nearby tree branches.
