This bird has been a round at least 2 weeks. It seems recent snow cover has brought her in much more this weekend. I was able to get photos of her at the suet feeder today. From a distance, my first thought due to the bill length this was a HAWO, but her size and shape are that of a Downy (I compared pictures of a normal downy @ this feeder just to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me on her size.)
I was able to get a good look at her with binoculars too foraging in the tree & she seemed to be doing ok foraging. First time I’ve seen anything like this in my area.
