We first noticed this woodpecker at the beginning of this month (Jan 2021). It has a large clump of downy feathers on it’s right side near the base of the tail. It seems to be getting larger, or at least more noticeable. It does appear to impact flight.

That’s really strange. I have no idea what might cause that.
