Description

This goldfinch has yellow and black pigments but is lacking brown pigments. The goldfinch appears white with a pale yellow head and normal black coloration. This goldfinch has appeared at our feeder the past two winters.

I have been seeing a lesser Goldfinch on my feeder that is black on the back lika a normal lesser, but is white where a normal lesser is yellow. Does anyone know anything abbot a lesser marked this way?

Hello, Bob. That could be a condition known as leucism, as in the photo above.
