This bird was walking in an intersection within Stokes State Forest. It’s bill could not close, and it appeared that the upper bill might be deformed. I could see no signs of injury or bleeding, and it seemed to walk normally. It did not seem disturbed by either me or my car, and did not try to fly away when I approached it to try to catch it to bring to a bird rehabilitator. It walked fast enough on the rocks in the woods next to the road, and due to personal injury I couldn’t walk fast enough to catch it.
