Hi Vernon, I believe that this is Melanism. Melanism is an increased amount of black pigments in an animal, resulting in dark or black areas. I see you tagged this as leucistic, but leucism is basically the opposite. Leucism is a partial loss of pigments, causing white or pale areas. Great find!
