Description

Fresh Snow and Fresh Suet in the feeder brought in a variety of woodpeckers to the feeder. Then the unmistakable sounds of the large woodpeckers cause me to reach for my camera. First the female, then the male showed themselves and worked their way down the trees to the feeder. Male took first shot and then the female a few minuets after he left. Impressive to hear and see and, know that they are still around. Other woodpecker that came in included: Male Red belly, several Downy and one Hairy as well as White Breasted Nuthatches.

You done something that I’ve never been able to do: caught both the male and female Pileateds in the same frame. Congratulations!

Wow, wonderful to see more of the pileateds. I posted a picture I took of a female at our suet feeder. We always hear them here in SW PA. but first time I saw one at our feeder. She’s been coming almost every day and I’m trying to get more photos, Nice pictures!
