Description

Behind my bird feeder’s I noticed a woodpecker foraging for himself, not really interested in the free food. Stayed in view for quite a while during one of my survey days last week. Can’t tell if it is hairy, downy or something else. Seems to be male with some visible red feathers but at front of head rather than in the rear.

Woodpecker Inquiry

I'm not sure what type woodpecker I have here. Red feathers in front of head don't match anything in my field guide.
