Description

Today (3/6) was the first time I’ve ever had a Pheasant in my backyard – what a gift! It was eating the white Millet that I had put out for the Doves, Juncos, etc. He hung around for about an hour then disappeared into the woods behind my house.

What a beautiful bird! You’re luckier than I. The Wild Turkeys are the only birds that come into my yard from the woods…other than the usual feeder birds.

Thanks, Bob! This was a 1st for my yard – I was so surprised to see him under the feeders when I looked out the window! I hope he keeps visiting.

Texas Bird Family says:

Wow! Great photos! I’ve never seen a Wild Turkey or a pheasant at my feeders (or anywhere actually!)

Laura Frazier says:

Thank you so much! I’s seen them in the general area but never in my neighborhood before, and here we are on March 25th and it is still hanging around in my neighborhood and my backyard eating the millet that I throw on the ground for all the ground feeding birds 😊

Lori says:

Such a handsome boy. I like his strut.
