On New Year’s Day, 2015, a number of Eastern Bluebirds showed up at my feeders for the first time during the winter.

Just saw your comment: It’s not completely impossible for you to see the Eastern Bluebird in southern Manitoba; they get up there during their breeding season, as do the Mountain Bluebirds from the western part of the continent that never come this far east.
