Description

We wondered why so few birds this count. I went out looking for a hawk. Could not spot one. Then on the second day there she was, bold as brass, sitting on one of the wooden plant cages. We are wildlife certified, so,we do not cut brush until March. BTW, five of our backyard feeders are not visible from this window view. We also have 6 feeders in the front yard. No birds present in the front yard this count time. We knew threw had to be a reason.

Species

The Juvenile Cooper’s Hawk

Juvenile Cooper's Hawk on left, sitting on a wooden plant cage. She blends in perfectly, but the birds know she is there. The birds are gone.
