Description

Varied thrush seen in my backyard on Jan 16, 2014 around 8:30 am. It was 30 degrees, and there were a lot of robins drinking at our birdbath, which has a heater. There were about 20 robins in all in the yard and trees. I spotted the Varied thrush hopping along on the ground nearby. I didn’t know what it was and had to look it up. It had flown away by the time I figured out what it was, but it came back and I got this picture.

The picture isn’t great, I took it with my iPhone, but I did get some video of it on my camera, can try to submit that if needed, but having trouble uploading it.
