Berkeley, California, neighborhoods support lots of birds, squirrels, and — and Roof rats. Usually, the rats stay sight and glean what they can by night. For that reason, we bring our feeders in at dusk. But once in a while a bold rat will brave the daylight to get a quick snack of birdseed.
