Description

On really hot, Midwestern summer days we put out a hose with a sprayer to create a mist for the birds. Birds come from all directions to enjoy the cooling mist baths. Birds that I don’t ordinarily get at the feeders come to bathe. I have had Eastern Wood Peewees, Yellow-billed Cuckoos, Northern Parulas, Red Headed Woodpeckers and Brown Thrashers beside all the usual feeder birds. This Ruby Throated Hummingbird was enjoying the water bath on this leaf.
