Description

I keep two bubbling birdbaths in my small patio and get many visitors all day long. My laundry room window overlooks the baths, I took the screen off the window and hung a camouflage curtain. I point my handheld telephoto out the window to catch the action.

Rufous Ready For A Bath

My birdbaths are busy places with Kinglets, Sparrows,Finches, Warblers coming and going all day. Everyone loves the bubble. This little Rufous Hummingbird took his turn during a break in the action.

As you know, hummingbirds are such a challenge to photograph and you’ve got it down! And thanks for sharing with us just how you are able to get such lovely shots. Nice work.

Jean Kohut says:

Thank you Ellen for your kind comments…when it is too cloudy or I just can’t get out with the birds I always have my patio birds to cheer me up!

I’ve been following Jean Kohut for a few years as she dabbles in photography. She has grown so much lately and is truly a “real” photographer now. Her bird photos are amazingly clear and interesting as she catches them in various stages of flight and eating patterns. Hope everyone gets to enjoy them as much as I do.

Jean Kohut says:

Thank you Dorothy..so very kind of you to say so. It’s been a joy getting to know you also through your photographs.

What detail, I am amazed at how close-up the hummingbird looks. I complement the beauty and detail captured in this image. Beautiful work!

Your very welcome! You may just be a winner, good luck!
