Description

For several weeks in March about 500,000 Sandhill Cranes spend their days feeding in the corn fields of Kearney, Nebraska, and their nights sleeping in the Platte River. At dawn and dusk the skies fill up with this amazing movement. The sound is also thrilling. Eventually they are well nourished and all head north to breed.
