Description

One day last spring, I noticed in the corner of my eye that something different had landed on my feeder. I took several photos and tried all means of identification that I had available, and with the help from fellow online birders came to the conclusion that it was a Summer Tanager. I get the occasional Scarlet Tanager, but have never seen this one here before. The bird stayed for a couple of days and then moved on. It was very exciting, and is part of the reason why I am looking forward to spring migration.
