A Day Visit From A Nocturnal Winged Being

We found this owl in our birch tree, 3 metres from our front door, on 23 February, 2015 after a very cold night. It spent the day in the tree facing the sun, appearing curious about our activities (our dog, cars, people walking by it). Nor did it seem to mind being photographed, moving to face me as I moved around it.It stayed until the late afternoon, leaving as the sunlight moved away from the front of the house. What a blessing to have seen this beautiful being up close!
