Blue Jays are very frequent visitors to our yard, all year long, happy to say! They are not scared of my presence now, as you can see in this photo! Last spring I had a couple who built a nest and got to see their single fledgling being taught how to fly in my backyard! He would hop around, hiding in ground cover we provided. Fun to see him fly upwards 5′ onto Crabapple tree branches to perch, then 6′ up onto the top of our fence! It took only 5 days for him to fly off with his parents, who were always close by.
