Getting ready for an night of -29 Celsius ..
Lovely pictures-we here, in SW PA., were having below 0*F. temperatures & included frigid Wind Chill factors. Brrr………..
Aleene,, the Wind factor is what changes the temp. so dramatically and then we had freezing rain,, wild variations of temp.. I, have never had so few birds..ever..really hard on birds and bird feeders. ice crusted,,
Aleene, I, have sent you a note, which, I, hope will reach you..in SWPA,, I, have only 39 different birds in my lifelong. so far bird life.. Hopefully, this year,, the Common Redpolls,,irruption,, may be the only event I, will have to prove.. I, ever existed,, and worthy of mention.. Until late march,, I, will just keep feeders filled…but, in late march,, it is 18 kilos of black seeds daily.. as hundreds flock.. in my tiny yard..
