Here is a fledgling baby Bluebird. It followed its dad to my feeders.
Daddy picked up a couple dried mealworms and fed the fledgling, but then flew away leaving the, still hungry, kid to fend for itself.
Dad taught the little guy the lesson: “I’m not feeding you any more…here’s the food, you can feed yourself.”
And the fledgling did.
Lesson learned!
