This was a big surprise and a genuine treat. For the first time ever an Evening Grosbeak showed up in my yard here on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennesee… AND I was lucky to see it with a camera in hand! I don’t know if they are just eruptive or if he might simply have been migrating down to Mexico, but it was a thrill to see it in person and get a couple photos. It jumped up to my hopper feeder for a few minutes, and that was the last I saw of it.
